Our Statement of Faith

1. THE BIBLE
The Holy Bible is the divinely inspired, unerring Word of God. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our every day lives and our supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

2. ONE HOLY AND LOVING GOD
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy. (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22; 1 Peter 1:15-16; 1 John 4:8)

3. OUR SIN
We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. (Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:23; 1 Corinthians 15:22; Galatians 1:3-5; 1 John 5:19)

4. JESUS, OUR SAVIOUR
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man and is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory over death and the devil and to empower us for life. He ascended to His Father's right hand, and now intercedes for His people there. The Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised. (Matthew 1:23; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 Corinthians 15:4; 1 Corinthians 15:22; Colossians 1:15-20)

5. OUR DESTINATION
We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 14:6; Romans 5:12-19; Philippians 2:10; Hebrews 9:27; 1 John 3:8; Revelation 12:9)

6. OUR RESPONSE TO JESUS
We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the 'new birth' we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives. (John 3:3; John 3:16; Ephesians 2:1- 10; Colossians 1:13; Titus 3:5-7; 1 John 1:9)

7. BEING FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit and recognize that it is the Holy Spirit who enables us to use all of the spiritual gifts listed in the Bible. (John 14:12-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1-4 and the rest of the book of Acts; 1 Corinthians 12-14; Romans 12; Romans 15:18-19; 1 Corinthians 4:20; Ephesians 4; Ephesians 5:18; Ephesians 6:10-20; 1Thessalonians 5:19-21 1Timothy 4:14; 2 Timothy 1:6)

8. BAPTISM AND THE LORD'S SUPPER
We believe that Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church: water baptism and the Lord's Supper also called "communion". Both are available to all believers as an act of corporate worship in remembrance of His sacrificial death and a celebration of His triumphant resurrection from the dead. (Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 10: 16-17; 1 Corinthians 11: 23-26)

9. OUR INDIVIDUAL CALLING
We believe that God has equipped us and wants to heal and transform us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfil our role in the church and serve the community in which we live. (Philippians 2:13; Ephesians 2:10; Romans 12:1-2)
